Yesterday Crabbing made it consecutive wins after his impressive run in the 2yo handicap at Morphettville’s Parks track over 1000 metres. Positive from the outset Todd Parnell took Crabbing to the front.  After straightening he stole a race winning 4 length break. Crabbing held out the late closers to win by a length.

Crabbing (Holy Roman Emperor x Orpenella) was bred by Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm and purchased by trainer Jon O’Connor at Adelaide’s Magic Millions Sale. The 2yo has now doubled his purchase price winning $52,200 from just four career starts. All of his runs have been at Morphettville, but this was his first run on the inside track.

Earlier at Caulfield Gallant Express, another LTF bred 2yo, was making his debut. On paper it appeared a classy field and the race didn’t disappoint. Robbie Lang’s Danerich colt Lord Of The Sky was dominant leading throughout to win by a 3.5 lengths. Next best was million dollar colt Monkstone who missed the start but was impressive and strong in the closing stages. Gallant Express performed admirably, sticking to his task to finish third. Trainer Doug Harrison reported that Gallant Express is a promising type who will only improve as he gets older.
