Stimulatte – LTF Yearling Parade 2012

Lot 138 in Adelaide’s 2012 Magic Millions was a bay colt by Excites from Caffe Francais. The colt was one of seven yearlings presented among Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm’s draft for that sale.  The colt was purchased by trainer Gordon Richards for $7,000.

The yearling previously known as X-Man is now a gelding and has been named Stimulatte. He had his first race start today at Gawler. Unloved by punters in the 2yo maiden over 1,111 metres Stimulatte was sent out at a price of more than 20-1. On top Amy Herrmann rode him beautifully. Ridden along the rails Stimulatte had cover throughout and when Amy found room in the straight punters must have known they had the market wrong. Stimulatte won by nearly four lengths.

Stimulatte became the 63rd individual winner bred at Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm. The win came just five days after another Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm winner broke her maiden status. Rapid Link (pictured below) is by Charge Forward from Inthemix. She had been knocking on the door before saluting at Geelong over 1,100 metres on Friday 10th May. Working  to the line Rapid Link with Patrick Moloney up prevailed by a narrow margin from the courageous runner up – Nicked It. Rapid Link was purchased and is trained by John Moloney.
