Ricky Maund sent Gold Energy in to the bull ring and over some jumps after his disappointing run at Moe. He also decided to take the blinkers off. “I think they stirred him up too much”. It did the trick. Yesterday, Gold Energy was a different horse.
Ronald Bell took the ride in the Cool Rooms Galore Rising Stars Handicap for apprentice jockeys over 1200 metres at Kilmore. Ronald settled the gelding on the fence, a little further back than mid field. Rounding the turn, Bell, found space and guided the gelding across and wide to the better part of the track. Gold Energy did not let him down. He accelerated to win by ¾ length, running away.
It was Gold Energy’s third win.
