Pegasus Too Powerful

Lauriston bred two year old Powerful Pegasus made it two from two at Alice Springs yesterday. The Distant Music gelding was sent out at very short odds, and did not let his supporters down. Finding the lead comfortably, Powerful Pegasus dictated the 1100 metre race to the turn. And when Paul Denton pushed the go button, Powerful Pegasus drew further away to win by four lengths. It was an impressive back up from his debut three weeks ago, when he won at the same venue over 1000 metres – on that occasion by 7&½ lengths. The TROBIS qualified gelding, trained by Lisa Lefoe has now earned $24,000 from his two starts.

Powerful Pegasus, out of Lauriston’s Dehere mare, Here For Honour, was sold by Lauriston at Inglis’ 2009 Autumn yearling sale in Melbourne. Powerful Pegasus is a half brother to Agar.
