Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm will present six quality weanlings at Magic Millions’ 2017 Gold Coast National Weanling Sale which commences on Thursday 25th May 2017. The weanlings will be stabled in Chester Barn 51-56 and paraded at the complex from Monday 22nd May.
Inspections by appointment are welcome at Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm, Corinella in Victoria prior to their departure to the Gold Coast sales complex.
Lot 166 B Filly Shooting to Win Amarazetti
This weaning is a powerful September born filly from the first
crop of Group 1 Caulfield Guineas winner, Shooting To Win (by Northern Meteor). Shooting To Win’s female line descends directly from Cotehele House, dam of Commands. Commands is also the sire of this foal’s dam, Amarazetti. Amarazetti, was a 2yo sprinting black type performer who won on five occasions. She is the dam of lightly raced 2yo Caulfield winner Ms Mazetti who split Bullpit and Rich Enuff on debut.
Lot 288 B Colt Toronado Demasheen
This impressive colt is from the first crop of Toranado, a dual Group 1 winning son of Champion Sire, High Chaparral. His dam is 2yo city winner Demasheen, a daughter of champion sire Fastnet Rock from 2yo black type performing mare Shimo Star (by Centaine). This colt is bred on the same cross (High Chaparral to Fastnet Rock) as Group 1 All Aged Stakes winner Tivaci, Omei Sword and New Performer.
Lot 310 B Colt Toronado Empowering
This strong colt is from the first crop of Toranado, a dual Group 1 winning son of Champion Sire, High Chaparral. His dam, three time winner Empowering, by popular broodmare sire General Nediym, is a full sister to Tendue. Tendue has produced two stakes performers. Alcohol has won more than $250,000 and was runner up at Group 3 level while Alcobro has placed at listed level.
Lot 312 B Filly Star Witness Encapsulate
This well grown filly is by Australian Champion 3yo Star Witness. Star Witness is the sire of Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm bred and dual Group 1 winner Global Glamour. This filly’s dam Encapsulate is by Australian Champion sire Encosta de Lago from listed runner up Anemone Garden. Encapsulate has produced four winners including Swipeline and is a half sister to Super Bucks dam of Group 2 winner Super Cash.
Lot 421 Ch Colt Helmet Lake Mountain
This athletic colt is by 127 Timeform rater and G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Helmet. Helmet, by Exceed And Excel, has produced G1 winner Thunder Snow as well as G2 performers Archives, Limestone and others. This weanling is from Lake Mountain, a daughter of Encosta de Lago mare Emilydelago. Emilydelago has produced three winners including Zellinda, who was runner up at black type level as a 2yo.
Lot 511 Ch Filly Starspangledbanner Partygoer
This flashy filly is a daughter of Royal Ascot Golden Jubilee winner Starspangledbanner , a son of Choisir. Starspangledbanner’s progeny have performed admirably from limited opportunity and include Champion 2yo colt in France, The Wow Signal. Partygoer, by Mossman, was a 2yo city winner and successful race filly who won $162,000 prizemoney. She produced lightly raced Cailin Miss who won by more than 2 lengths at listed level as a 2yo.
