Swipeline pictured as a yearling
Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm bred Swipeline was purchased at Inglis Premier Sale in 2011 by Tony McEvoy. Swipeline debuted as favourite in the $250,000 Inglis banner race on Cox Plate day later that year. He was the fastest finisher but had to settle for third.
Yesterday Swipeline enjoyed his second race win at Morphettville from just nine career starts. Once again he was the race favourite. Swipeline was not quick from the barriers but Jamie Kah pushed him up beneath runners from the inside gate to find the front spot. He maintained the lead throughout to the post managing to hold out the late closers by three quarters of a length.
