Rambert in a Cakewalk

Lauriston bred Rambert (by King Charlemagne out of Marie Rambert) was a dominant winner in the second heat of the stayer’s series at Echuca today. After being posted outside the leader in the earlier stages Jack Hill guided Rambert to

the front to set the pace for the remainder of the 2,100 metre course. At the turn he stole a break and the twelve horses following were very quickly off the bit. Jack glanced over his shoulders on a couple of occasions to ensure that he was clear, but the race was won a long way from home. Jack eased his mount down in the final stages. The margin to the second horse was 3.5 lengths with the same margin again to third.

It was the third win for the Shea Eden trained six year old from just fourteen career starts. Rambert is owned by Paul, Kathy and Colin Eden.
