Levant was slowly away from the inside gate in the 1212 metre 0-68 rating race at Echuca last Monday.
It was a good ride by Eddie Cassar. He pushed the gelding up in to the box seat and at the turn peeled him off the rails. Levant ran down the front runners to win by half a length from Chocolate Ruby. Trainer Eric Musgrove was pleased with the win. “He has really been giving his all of late, and he deserved this win”. It was Levant’s third career win.
Levant, bred at Lauriston, is by Rubiton out of Sea Zephyr. He is a half brother to the consistent Verridon who has won his last two starts.
