Verridon is Very Good

Lauriston bred Verridon won impressively at Toowoomba last night. The Eric Ropiha trained grey gelding box seated during the class 4 race over 1050 metres. Prior to the turn jockey Tatts Fujinuma pushed out to give the 4yo room. Verridon set chase after Ulmarra who had stolen a break on the rest of the field. Verridon won by 0.8 lengths.

Verridon is by Statue Of Liberty out of Black Zephyr mare, Sea Zephyr. It was his fourth win.

Other Lauriston bred runners this weekend, included 2yo Al Jandar, who

backed from his debut win by running a gallant second at Sandown yesterday and Complete Control whose late sectionals were impressive as she ran in to second place at Bendigo over 1000m today. Both runners were trained by Robbie Griffiths. Empowering was a placegetter at Port Augusta in her first start on the dirt.
