Rhodehaven Spaces Them

Rhodehaven became the forty fifth winner to be bred at Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm when he took out the fourth at Mortlake yesterday. Steered by Craig Robertson, he

won the class 1 event over 1100 metres by nearly four lengths. There was more than eight lengths to third placegetter and well backed odds on favourite Palconi. Rhodehaven is trained by Craig Conron.

Rhodehaven was sold by Lauriston at Melbourne’s 2009 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.  He is by Statue Of Liberty from Lauriston brood mare Orpenella. Orpenella has produced three foals of racing age. All are winners, including Colonel Greer by Jungle Pocket, a two year old winner in New Zealand. Her fourth foal is a Holy Roman Emperor yearling colt. He will be presented in Lauriston’s draft at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale in March 2012.
