Silentz Silences Critics

Lot number 334 at the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale was a head-turning chestnut colt by Snitzel from Inthemix (by Easy Rocking). While attracting a lot of attention, the yearling was crossed off short lists due to veterinary advise after their interpretation of the xrays lodged at the repository.

The colt was sold to trainer Danny O’Brien for $65,000.

The Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm bred colt was named Silentz and debuted as a 3yo where he was beaten in a photo. He won his following start by over a length and had just one more start for O’Brien before being transferred to Darren Weir’s stable.

Silentz had an impressive first preparation in his new stable which consisting of eight starts from March through to July 2018. He won four of those starts, including a streak of three in a row, and an impressive victory at Flemington over a mile. Sent out as $2.60 race favourite Silentz stormed home from nearly last at the turn to win by more than a length. Race Replay: 23 Jun 18 R8 Flemington

Yesterday Silentz was equally as impressive highlighted by his trademark fast-finishing turn of foot. Adelaide apprentice Chris Caserta weaved Silentz through traffic from a seemingly impossible position to greet the judge first in the last race at Caulfield on the Boxing Day. The $65,000 purchase has now amassed six victories and more than $220,000 prizemoney from fifteen race starts for connections.
