Sorisam Jumps Back to the Winner’s Circle

Prior to Sorisam’s back up run at Yarra Valley yesterday Ricky Maund decided to alter his training regime. Ricky sent the gelding out over a few jumps. Ricky knew the gelding was well and felt the change may sharpen him up. He was right.

Yesterday the majority of races at Yarra Valley were won by the front runners. Sorisam did himself no favours when he dwelled at the start of the 1,000 metre journey. Sorisam was last at the turn and it appeared that front runner Pink Zink had the race to herself. But the race was not over. Dean Holland spotted half a gap between two horses and urged Sorisam through. The gap widened and Sorisam clicked up a gear. Sorisam found the line just 0.2 lengths ahead of Pink Zink with Terms Of Trade a further 2 lengths in arrears.

It was the Sequalo gelding’s fifth win.
