The first three Lauriston foals this season are colts.

Flower Power produced a strong bay Shamardal colt on the fourth of August. Little more than a week later Cica Cica produced a strapping brown Bel Esprit colt and last night Mighty Atalanta foaled a 63kg bay colt by Tale Of The Cat.

“This season we had 28 mares in foal – and the first three born have all been colts” exclaimed Lauriston’s stud manager Paul Eden. “All of them have size about them, so it’s a terrific start to the season. Mother nature always has an amazing knack of balancing everything up, so now I am expecting a few fillies”.

Both Flower Power and Cica Cica are by Success Express. Cica Cica won five races and is a half-sister to the impressive Robbie Griffiths trained 3 year old gelding Al Jandar. Her first colt (pictured) has just turned two. He is an imposing ‘look at me’ black colt by Bianconi who commanded a lot of attention at the

Adelaide Magic Millions sale earlier this year. He was purchased by Byron Cozamanis for $60,000, and has been named Cavallo Nero.

Mighty Atalanta is also a winner of five races and a half-sister to the stakes placed Port Call and Lord Of Lauriston, who has won more than $250,000 on the race track. Mighty Atalanta is the dam of Elimination who has won three times.
