Saddle Slip Cannot Stop Al Jandar

Al Jandar was an impressive winner at Kilmore on Sunday. Racing on the speed the gelding ran away in the final stages to win the 1200 metre race by two lengths. Jockey Michael Walker reported after the race that his saddle had slipped just after the jump.

The win was Al Jandar’s third and took his career prize money to nearly $100,000. The four year gelding was bred at Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm and sold at Inglis’ Melbourne Premier Sale in 2009 for $27,000 to trainer Robbie Griffiths for owner Ms A. Thomson.
