Iron Lotus Wins at Alice

The Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm bred and cleverly named 2yo filly Iron Lotus (2f Turffontein x Blazing Glory by Bianconi) took her place in the first at Alice Springs yesterday. It was the Lisa Lefoe trained filly’s second race start after finishing runner up on debut (beating the third horse by more than seven lengths). Apprentice Kate Brooks was positive aboard the $1.90 favourite from the outset ensuring that Iron Lotus would lead the field. They were never troubled and won the 1,000m race comfortably.
