Earlier this year in January, in her first race start, at Bairnsdale over 1600 metres, Spy Catcher finished a barn storming second. However, overstretching, she succumbed to injury. On melbourne Cup day, one operation and ten months later Spy Catcher returned to the same track and distance for her second career start.
