Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm will present a draft of seven weanlings at Inglis’ Great Southern Sale at Oaklands Junction this weekend. Three will go under the hammer on Sunday 21st June while the remaining four will be offered on Monday 22nd June.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Lot7\"<\/a>Lot 7<\/span><\/a> Ch Colt Americain (USA) x Empowering<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis impressive looking colt is from the first crop of Champion European, Champion Australian stayer and Melbourne Cup winner Americain. He is the second foal from three time winner Empowering. Empowering\u2019s first foal sold for $40,000. She is by General Nediym and is a full sister to Tendue. Tendue has produced two stakes performers. Alcohol has won more than $250,000 and was runner up at Group 3 level while Alcobro has placed at listed level.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Lot<\/a>Lot 11<\/span><\/a> B Colt Turffontein x Express Lane<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis colt is by popular young sire Turffontein, Turffontein has produced Group 2 winners Fontein Ruby and Fontiton from each of his two crops to race. This is the first foal from Express Lane. Express Lane is a half sister to the well performed Too Deadly who has won three races and more than $175,000 in prize money.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Lot<\/a>Lot 162<\/span><\/a> Ch Filly Choisir x Swift Sands<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis attractive filly is a daughter of super sire Choisir. Choisir\u2019s progeny are well sought after and perform consistently at International level. This filly is the second foal from Swift Sands. Swift Sands is from Group 1 place getter Quite Astute. Swift Sands won on five occasions to 1,200 metres and finished runner up behind Paprika in the first 2yo race in Australia in her year. She also finished runner up in the Magic Millions 2yo plate.

\"Lot<\/a>Lot 260<\/span><\/a> B Filly Toorak Toff x Encapsulate<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis well grown filly is by multiple Group 1 winner Toorak Toff. Toorak Toff\u2019s oldest progeny are yearlings. This filly\u2019s dam Encapsulate is by Australian Champion sire Encosta de Lago from listed runner up Anemone Garden. Encapsulate has produced three foals to race. All are winners including Swipeline who has won three times at city level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThis attractive filly is by the ever consistent Strategic. Strategic is the sire of Misegic, Meurice, Platelet, Fair Embrace, Tudor and others. This weanling\u2019s dam is Glorious Spirit who is a winner despite only racing on three occasions. Glorious Spirit is a daughter of stakes placed Here For Glory and hails from the family that produced black type winners British General and British Lion<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Lot<\/a> Lot 341<\/span><\/a> Ch Filly Turffontein x Blazing Glory<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis impressive filly looks to be an early runner. She is by popular young sire Turffontein, Turffontein has produced Group 2 winners Fontein Ruby and Fontiton from each of his two crops to race. This is filly is the second foal from Bianconi mare Blazing Glory. Blazing Glory won two races to 1200 metres. \nThis filly is by the successful sire Domesday. Domesday has produced Group 1 winners Pressday and Doctor Doom. The filly\u2019s dam is Corinella by the popular sire High Chaparral. Corinella won two races at 1008 and 1400 metres and she is a half sister to black type and $300,000 prize money winner Changing Eyes.
