Gold Lining stepped out in the second over a mile. Jumping well, Jade Darose crossed and slowed the gelding in to the box seat. Mid race Gold Lining appeared to be losing ground, however Jade pushed the gelding out and commenced his run at the turn. Rounding the bend, he quickly put paid to the front runners, but it was the back markers, Sir Cohen and Keypoints who claimed him on the line. Gold Lining finished third by just over half a length and nearly three lengths in front of the fourth horse. “He’s earned a reprieve,” said Ricky after the run. “He’s starting to understand what is required. It was Agar’s third win and lifted his career prizemoney to more than $40,000. Agar is by Commands out of Lauriston mare Here for Honour (by Dehere).
