Zofabird\u2019s trainer and owner, Emma Hubbard, selected Justin Potter to ride the three year old filly in the 1100 metre Penola maiden. Settling back on the fence, Potter guided the filly along the inside. Zofabird gave Midnite Crusade a length start in the straight. Zofabird proved too strong and wore the favourite down to won in a photo.<\/p>\n

Zofabird\u2019s win on Sunday was well deserved. She had displayed form in her last three starts and in particular running second to Kate\u2019s Dream in her previous run. Kate\u2019s Dream won again last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Zofabird is by Danbird out of Lauriston\u2019s mare Zofagal. She is the 27th individual winner bred at Lauriston.
